Pet Diagnostics and Digital Imagery

Here at Stonewater Veterinary Hospital, we offer the latest technology as a means of providing your pet with the highest level of quality veterinary care. It is difficult to see your pet in pain or suffering and not know what’s wrong. At Stonewater Veterinary Hospital, our team is well-trained to quickly obtain the test results we need to diagnose and treat your pet’s condition.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a very useful diagnostic tool that utilizes sound waves through a specialized probe to project real-time images or videos of our patient’s organs onto a display screen. This modality allows the veterinarians to see within the organs and body cavities of our patients. Ultrasound aids in differentiating between normal and abnormal findings so a diagnostic plan can be developed.

At Stonewater Veterinary Hospital we work with a radiologist who comes in for non-urgent scheduled ultrasounds. For emergency ultrasounds please visit a veterinary emergency room.

Radiology

An x-ray (radiograph) is a noninvasive diagnostic test that aids in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. Imaging with x-rays involves exposing a part of the body to a small dose of ionizing radiation to produce pictures of the inside of the body. Our digital radiography table delivers images in seconds and offers lower exposure to radiation. These pictures can then be reviewed by our Veterinarians and electronically sent to board-certified radiologists for consultation and review.
